I was open to you...
there were no guards standing at my door
no protection for the heart
so wrecklessly i fail
succumbed to your words
your vision
became mine
you penetrated the core of me
and i let you dwell within endlessly
I was not afraid of your presence in my mind or in my heart
I welcomed you...took pleasure in you, in me
I wanted you to stay
as long as you wanted and yet still that was not enough for me
Now you've gone and emptiness and hope resides in your place
an empty space
not enough to fill me and yet just enough to sustain...the pain
everyone's talking about protection
protection is smart
Wish there was a condom big enough for my heart

See there you go again Miz...hitting the nail on the head! How I do love the way you get right down to the nitty AND the gritty of it all!
I love the word play here:
I was not afraid of your presence in my mind or in my heart
I welcomed you...took pleasure in you, in me
I wanted you to stay
as long as you wanted and yet still that was not enough for me
Now you've gone and emptiness and hope resides in your place"
And I especially love the fact that you speak to emptiness and hope residing in the same place...how poetically, tragically beautiful and sad is that?!
YOU my dear astound me once again ;)
Wow Miz...You never cease to amaze me with your gift. Won't taint you piece with useless accolades.
XOXO

Thanks to all, thank you so much Sharon especially for your comment really touched me...everyday (as Cap would say) we hustlin, and everyday we are struggling, with past loves, pasttimes, past mistakes, and in this space...i am able to release, an embrace... and make sense of the noise that vibrates through me. I thank you all...for allowing me to run free, in words, to express, to converse, and make some sense of this madness...that is sometimes ME!
beautiful
Nice ending!
I love nice endings...
I keep a box of magnums on me, you think those are big enough?
