* Ab-whore You *

My heart is caught in a vice
Leaving me unable to breathe
Forth my true feelings

Afraid to crave touch again
Tenderness has checked out of my existence

Only pain remains

Sinned stained sheets
Depraved of love
Filled with the spoils of lust
Nothing can wash away
The emptiness of your
Absence

Time moves in frames
Slow deliberate movements
Life no longer impacts the senses

The sun feels like a thunderstorm
The birds chirp to deaf ears
The scenery moving yet I lay catatonic with grief
Preferring this hail storm of sadness

Words don’t help
Self esteem scared to come out of hiding
Tormented by the defection of your presence

A layover no more
Flying the skies of life
First class with another

Me

Left watching from the gate

How I hate
Loving you.

*HisTory/HerStory/OurStory*

The Old Country…
The Motherland…
The Last Empire…
Reestablished a New World that had already been discovered.

Cultures compared and clashed…
Masses mixed and mated…
Languages split and blended…
We were born.

Trails of Tears…
Trails of joy…
Trailing lives…
Some trails were documented and many were not.

Sunrise to sunset…
Living and loving…
Communicating and confusing…
Life is lived in the moments.

Faith…
Prayer…
Love…
Those are the foundations of life's moments.

"Yes, We can" …
"For Livin' I was born" …
"Strong men keepa gittin' stronger"…
Brothers uttered and penned passionately.

"We real cool"…
"I wrote a good omelet and ate a good poem"…
"You are such a fool, I haveta love you"…
Sistahs professed intently.

HisTory/HerStory/OurStory …
We. Are. The. Moments…
Active or passive…
Our lives are linked as we blaze these trails.

+ Can U name the authors quoted in the poem? +

*Detrimental*

Detrimental

He wanted me
To be a flowing river
Eternally supplying his needs
Him, closed off
Always receiving
Me, feeding him a feast
Him, giving me
Dried up crumbled promises
Only for him to walk away
Me, dangling
Like charms on a bracelet
Along with all the others

*Touch*

*Touch*
Touch me
I wont know without that tactile motion.
Touch me
Knead this flesh; create a commotion.

Touch me
None will know of your charity
Touch me
Just this once, this one rarity

Touch me
My teeth grind and my insides quake
Touch me
The earth will move; our souls will shake

Touch me
Just a taste of blackberry tips
Touch me
Angry digits dig into too full hips

Touch me
Coat this soul with victory’s toast
Touch me
Strike me; I crave discipline most

Touch me
Hold too tightly; force your will
Touch me
Pick me clean; eat your fill

Touch me
Every inch of you a discovery
Touch me
Your taste alone negates recovery

Touch me
Tear out my throat, gnash at my thighs
Touch me
Barrel right through me; ignore my cries

Touch me
Empty the vessel, strip flesh from bone
Touch me
Left as I was, as I am, rightly, alone

***THE ONE...A HerStory***

It was grey;
the one she was born with.
Not quite a ringlet, coiled so tight that when stretched, it recoiled.

Soon joined by others in its ranks, thousands of them, only black…
all of them not quite ringlets, coiled so tight they recoiled
but too slow not to be flattened under the powerful regime
of metal more than a hundred degrees short of molten
lava flowing down her cheeks
that once was Ultra Sheen.

Shoulders hunched per generations of defense mechanisms born of instinct
passed down through her double helixes escorted by
the impulse to clench buttocks and hold ears while
trying to still the synaptic cleft activity that produces the reflex
that scars little brown girls forever.

Not quite ringlets -- heated, stubborn coils re-coil angrily in the sun
setting the stage for the next phase, the new burn --
caused not by heat but by chemical arguments
that convince coils that coils are better = good if they do not recoil
and she accepts her fate and waits
for the tingle to tell her it is time and that they are no longer bad.

The battle to straighten (make right) the naturally crooked (coils) was fought
before acquaintances were made
before friendships could be established
before loyalties could be forged
before love affairs could flourish
between them and her.

Until one day the grey one;
the one she was born with.
Not quite a ringlet coiled so tight that when stretched, it recoiled…DID NOT.

It was only then --
after the one did not recoil,
after having lost almost 40 years of battles,
that she decided to win the war and let her stretched coils recoil and be BAD = good...again!

*Temptation*

The muscles in my back tensed as I looked at her. My mind whirled with all of the possibilities. Should I? Shouldn't I?
What a damn quandary.

She's married.

It's not that serious.
Ol' boy flaked off like pastry a long time ago, unseen in years. But she's vulnerable, emotional and needing.

I just wasn't sure I'd be there in the morning.

The tension created heat that could be measured in Kelvin. I could see the tiny beads of sweat form on her upper lip. I was close enough to die from breathing in her see-oh-two. Her nipples were like caged beast looking to break free of their prison at all costs. She worked at keeping her breath from coming in ragged gasps as her bountiful bosom heaved.

Her pheromonic scent woke the primordial in me.

My manhood strained at its confinement, twitching like it had been hit by downed electrical wires. My fists clinched, revealing the truth about the cool I struggled to maintain. I licked my lips in anticipation, eliciting a gasp from her. She was so close to the edge, a mild breeze would have sent her into an orgasmic abyss.

Struggling to keep her feet now.
Wrestling with my conscience now.

Time stopped...
until we found each others eyes.

I saw into her soul. I saw her past life. I saw her dreams, her needs, her passions...

and her fears.

I closed my eyes.
Exhaled.

And then I...
