Reflections ... on Loss & Luv...

This year, 2009 has been filled with a great DEAL of loss: quite a few celebrities & public figures, some family members & blog/internet family. I tend to lead a solitary existence - sometimes I choose this isolation because I think it'll make it easier because I won't experience the pain of losing loved ones if I don't "have" loved ones. I'm discovering that even choosing to live life behind the electronic curtain does not protect the heart. When Nikki passed & I discovered I was actually disturbed by it I became frightened at the prospect of losing Blog/Internet "family" who I have actually developed a real life relationship with and truly grown close to.

At the same time, being the conundrum that I am, I love people and am quite a social being. I've finally re-opened my heart to Love on a variety of levels: self-love, friendships, romance, even reaffirming family connections. I'm learning that it's the LOSS of Love that hurts - not the actual LOVING of others. Life without Love - as the "cliche" goes: really is not worth living.

Reflections are a funny thing... I had no idea this post would lead me to the renewal of Love. But, I guess there is No Loss if there is No Love. Hmm, that's deep. I need to go reflect on that a bit more. Peace, Blessings & MUCH Luv 2 U!

Supah Saxy....

He stepped into the darkened, crowded space and lit it up with his energy.
He uncased his sax, smiled then blew his soul all over us at the restaurant's bar.
He re-cased his sax, smiled then blew his heart and sweet ear-gasms all over me ... and only me.

Night & Day he makes love to me by warming up with his sax.
I watch with eager anticipation as he undresses her, slides his nimble fingers over her buttons causing her to sing his blues, jazz and funk.

After gently tucking her away I slip into her place -- in his embrace.
We relish in sweet mind-sex (and I don't mind sex;-).
We undress each other then his strong fingers press my buttons -- causing me to sang his blues, jazz, funk and my joy!

His musical notes spill all over my paiges.
We shout praises to the heavens 'cause our prayers have been answered.
We are so ready for this arranged marriage of our love & creativity
... that has been arranged by The Creator...

To my trained poets: These are simply poetic thoughts of mine which I needed to express. I have no idea what poetic form it fits...

BD2Write's Anniversary & Thank You!

It is often said that "Time flies when you're having fun" and this blog is more proof that it's a true statement! One year and two days ago, on Oct. 2nd, 2007 we launched this blog and invited you readers to The Party of the Blog-o-sphere! One year ago TODAY, we received our first Gift, posted by Sojourner G. We continue to be thankful to all who stop by this blog, leaving comments and good vibes! Of course, we are deeply indebted to and grateful for all of our contributors who are the life-blood of this project.

Reiteration of How We Named this Blog-Project (& select much of the music):
Those of us who came together to create this blog-project came of age along with HipHop. Many of our parents thought HipHop would be a musical fad, much like disco. Instead, HipHop has blossomed into a movement -- and for many, a lifestyle. Clearly not the beginning of HipHop itself - Rappers' Delight was the introduction of HipHop to the world of those who are not native New Yorkers. Twenty-nine years ago, in 1979 Rapper's Delight became the first hip-hop single to go gold. We, the creative team behind Bloggers' Delight...to Write, know that we did not start this phenomena of blogging, but we look forward to introducing the world to blogging as never before imagined! Because : "What you see is not a test!"

SAVE the DATE!!!! Bloggers' Delight TAKES NYC

I'm so excited! This is so nice I've gotta post it twice (here & @ my spot;-):

U all asked for it & Y(our) prayers have been answered! Bloggers' Delight, vol 1 will be completing its premiere tour in the BIG APPLE at an exclusive Harlem location (to be revealed along with the rest of the details very soon;-). Please - Save the DATE & make no other plans for: Saturday, October 11th, 2008 (probably early evening: 6-9pm - but the details are being worked out)!

Yes, it's Columbus Day weekend. Yes, I know most New Yorkers blast out of the city at the mention of a long weekend. But, the other authors in the collection with me want to tour The Big Apple along with the rest of the tourists;-)!

So, c'mon - stayCation with us, for this once in a life-time chance! Besides - NYC can't let the ATL beat 'em on numbers of bloggers who came thru & showed luv! At least 15 bloggers came through the ATL signing. I KNOW more than 15 bloggers live in or near enough to Harlem to come through;-). Will it help entice U if the event includes an assortment of food, beverages & it's FREE (though we may need to take up a good-will offering;-)? Where else can u get all this on a holiday weekend?

All those folx who said U wanted us to come through NYC ... U coming through? We're giving U an early heads up, so u can't say U didn't know). C U there (again - details will follow very soon;-)!!

As U Celebrate Father's Day...please look into your hearts...

The Fathers of the BD2Write team members raised & taught us well. We are a team of friends who are thankful that each of us has the love and influence of our Dads living with us each day, regardless of the fact that some of us no longer have their physical presence.

This blog concept of sharing our talents is a result of our Fathers' love. Opening this blog to strangers, giving each of us a forum in which to share and receive encouragement is our Fathers' love come to life on the Internet. Our Fathers did not grow up with the modern conveniences which we enjoy today. This Internet which we and our children will take for granted is a complete marvel to our parents. However, our Fathers grew up with a stronger inter-network of humane relationships built on respect and hard-work. Our Fathers often reminded us that we didn't need to like nor be close friends with everyone we worked with - but we had to respect them to get the job done.

Please, as you enjoy your Father's Day Weekends, take a moment to be silent and remember to respect everyone who takes the risk to share their work or comments here at Bloggers' Delight ... to Write.

Pretty. Purrfect. Peace.

I. am. at. peace. in my prettiness.

Peace of mind takes piece of time.

I have arrived in this purrfect place...

Thanx 2 The Creator.

I'll meet U here.

Take a load off in this comfy chair.

Kick off your shoes.

Let me run your bath water while we

Sip spirits & explore depths of each other's psyche.

Look at me. Enjoy the view.

Look into me and enjoy that, too.

I love your heavy voice and the light-hearted words flowing from your intellectual muscle.

You are comfortable with me being pretty. purrfect. flawed. at peace.

I am comfortable with me being pretty. purrfectly flawed. at peace.

You are at ease with U: purrfect at presenting your purpose to purchase your help meet.

I am at ease with U: purrfectly honored at your efforts to acquire such a help meet as Me.

Let us move on from our former selves as we disrobe and pursue anew.

Let us knead and heal each other as we slip into new waters bubbling with anticipation.

Let us wash away the grime of past crimes caused by immature ignorance ingrained by society.

Look at me glowing. refreshed. pretty purrrfectly for U. at peace.

Look at U flowing luvingly with & into purrfect for U me. at peace.

A Bit of Prose ... to Break the Monotony...

Not that it ever gets monotonous around here at BD2Write -- I just like that phrase cuz it makes me think of Will Smith's song: Summertime;-). Anyway... I hope u enjoy this teaser excerpt from the novel I'm shopping currently;-):

Reyna Seaton is the main character and narrator. Reyna was introduced to the world in Bloggers' Delight, Vol. 1's "Rey of Hope". Now, enjoy the "show"...

"... Dammit, Mimi! If she hadn't brought up the whole singles' event earlier today I wouldn't be so focused on the fact that I'm at home with a laptop and a cat while she's out possibly meeting her soul-mate because she didn't give up." A small voice in my head chided, "Don't blame Mimi."
Feeling highly agitated, I pulled out my journal:

All the sexperts write that self-pleasuring is normal and healthy. Then why doesn't it feel healthy to me? The sexperts reason that in order to help another pleasure you, first you had to know what brought you such delights. Well, someone should have written that notice to Antoine who touched me in ways and in places that I didn't know had nerve endings. I could have never pointed him to those spots. And what do the sexperts say about being touched from across the room by a simple glance? I sure as hell could not have ever practiced that on myself. Why did self-pleasuring leave me feeling cheated and more alone than ever? The sexperts never discuss the side effects of all that self-indulgence. There was no one to hold me together and snuggle with after the explosion blew me to pieces. No one to even kiss that special curve at the bottom of my spine. I have concluded that self-discovery was fine for kids, but after junior high school it was simply self-torture. I had to chuckle as I continued to write. In junior high school I thought I had discovered some great secret to the gateways of sexuality. Now that I know the real deal: that's just a waste of good energy and juices. If I'm ever blessed with children I'm going to teach them that as soon as they hit puberty: get your play in now, kids because once you discover the touch of another the thrill will never be the same.

* * *
My journal was cool for venting, but I still needed to hear a male voice.
"Hey, Larry."
"Wha's up, Baby?" He must have noted the heavy inflection in my greeting and added, "You a'right?"
"Yeah…and no"
Larry was one of my ex-lovers who I continued to call from time to time. It was an inexplicable relationship, that I knew was rather unhealthy, but I couldn't fully detach, just yet. Most of the time he irritated me, but he was the one person with whom I felt comfortable bitching and moaning when things weren't feeling okay. I got tired of calling girlfriends to complain, and half the time I'd end up having to cheer them up after listening to their problems, anyway. I hated to burden my parents with more problems since I knew they worried about me enough as it was. My attachment to Larry may have been unhealthy, but I didn't feel guilty when I vented to him. I wasn't sure what he thought of this non-relationship, but he seemed to answer the phone more often now, than when we were officially dating each other. I couldn't worry about him right now, I just needed to bitch and hear a male voice.
