Getting Over...You
Slip slide duck and hide away
But they are all around me
Beating me on the head
Hitting me in my back
Knocking the sh*t out of me
I know I look tough
But Man I'm tired
My breath is leaving me
I'm so exhausted
It hurts to breathe
Someone get me some help
Please...
Someone
Help
Me...

Madness
Going through emotions
So big
I want
To cry
Scream
Have magical powers
And bring my friend
Back
Senseless murder
Lives changed forever
I look
Down the street
See his empty home
Further down
I see his body
Laying there lifeless
I wanted to run
Shake him
Say
Get UP!
God knows better
All I can do is
Pray
Remember
Cry
Until
I heal.
RIP E.

little girl's face3-27-08
little girl's face
i have a little girl's face
flat cheeks
bone structures
like straight oval
but i am still a woman
to your eyes
look at me
those dark brown eyes
never lie
and you think, you said i am beautiful
oh my little babyface
i never
only a smile
a twinkle in my eye
and the cuteness is written
all over me
BUT STILL...
I was simply hoping that just this once, your need for me
might show up faster than your want for me.
Oh I know, “there I go again, tripping off of things that don’t matter”.
But still,
I can’t seem to help it.
I imagine a world in which the unimaginable is the reality.
A world in which I am needed in your world, not just wanted.
A world where I am necessary, a requirement, the cog without which the machinery that is you can’t function.
Oh I know, “Being wanted is a great thing!”
but still,
the thought of being an integral part of your program,
of playing a role so critical the show can’t work in my absence,
of being the opinion without which your thoughts simply can’t be sorted…
Hypnotizes me and creates this chasm between happiness over being wanted by you
and despair over my lack of necessity in your world.
AND, that keeps us so far apart.
Oh I know all this, but still…

No Virgin
I'm no Virgin...but I've never been explored...
I am virgin territories of unexplored depths.
I've been touched.
But, rarely connected.
I've been held.
But, rarely sheltered.
I've been in conversations.
But, rarely conferred with.
I've been looked at.
But, rarely looked into.
I've been listened to.
But, rarely heard.
I've been kissed.
But, rarely distinguished.
I've danced with.
But, rarely worked through steps.
I've partied with.
But, rarely been party to the collaboration of committed partnership.
And Now,
I am being regenerated
By The Creator ... for the Brother
... who I will fight for...not with.
... who will be the first... to be my last.

Empty
Still do
Fought with you
For you
Yet you needed space
Leaving me feeling displaced
But God has been here to replace
What you decided you could no longer give
As U Celebrate Father's Day...please look into your hearts...
The Fathers of the BD2Write team members raised & taught us well. We are a team of friends who are thankful that each of us has the love and influence of our Dads living with us each day, regardless of the fact that some of us no longer have their physical presence. This blog concept of sharing our talents is a result of our Fathers' love. Opening this blog to strangers, giving each of us a forum in which to share and receive encouragement is our Fathers' love come to life on the Internet. Our Fathers did not grow up with the modern conveniences which we enjoy today. This Internet which we and our children will take for granted is a complete marvel to our parents. However, our Fathers grew up with a stronger inter-network of humane relationships built on respect and hard-work. Our Fathers often reminded us that we didn't need to like nor be close friends with everyone we worked with - but we had to respect them to get the job done.
Please, as you enjoy your Father's Day Weekends, take a moment to be silent and remember to respect everyone who takes the risk to share their work or comments here at Bloggers' Delight ... to Write.

people
people
people who are
in love
must stay in love
if their hearts and souls
are stronger
as their minds and their whole bodies
God said we have a choice
to be with someone
or better off alone
cos love is not a fairy tale thing
it's real
the feelings we have is rare
we are people
human beings
stranger to stranger
just people who broke and mend
every piece of ourselves
for love
hearts breaking
promises ending
each day after day
we wonder
why love has come into
our lives so unexectedly
when our hearts race
feelings flow
before we knew,
love is always there to
savor us
sweetly like a
song
we keep on singing
oh we are people
all over the place
searching
for the beautiful things we want
in this world......
